Before practicing

After practicing

I am honored to be with you today at your commencement from one of the finest universities in the world.
I never graduated from college. Truth be told, this is the closest I've ever gotten to a college graduation.
Today I want to tell you three stories from my life.
That's it. No big deal. Just three stories.
The first story is about connecting the dots.
I dropped out of Reed College after the first 6 months, but then stayed around as a drop-in for another 18 months or so before I really quit.
So why did drop out?
It started before I was born.
My biological mother was a young, unwed college graduate student, and she decided to put me up for adoption.
She felt very strongly that I should be adopted by college graduates, so everything was all set for me to be adopted at birth by a lawyer and his wife.
Except that when I popped out they decided at the last minute that they really wanted a girl.
So my parents, who were on a waiting list, got a call in the middle of the night asking:"We have an unexpected baby boy; do you want him?"
They said: "Of course."
My biological mother later found out that my mother had never graduated from college and that my father had never graduated from high school. She refused to sign the final adoption papers.
She only relented a few months later when my parents promised that I would someday go to college.

And 17 years later I did go to college.
But I naively chose a college that was almost as expensive as Stanford, and all of my working-class parents' savings were being spent on my college tuition.
After six months, I couldn't see the value in it.
I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life and no idea how college was going to help me figure it out.
And here I was spending all of the money my parents had saved their entire life.
So I decided to drop out and trust that it would all work out OK.
It was pretty scary at the time, but looking back it was one of the best decisions I ever made.
The minute I dropped out I could stop taking the required classes that didn't interest me, and begin dropping in on the ones that looked interesting.
It wasn't all romantic.
I didn't have a dorm room, so I slept on the floor in friends' rooms, I returned coke bottles for the 5¢ deposits to buy food with, and I would walk the 7 miles across town every Sunday night to get one good meal a week at the Hare Krishna temple.
I loved it.

video reflection

Until now, i took 4~5 videos in class.
It was really hard for me to take videos on my own.
I've never gotten that experiences before.
When i tried at the first time, i got so stressful.
I really didn't know how to deal with that.
I am not good at using computer and i don't like it.
Without doing homework, i never use computer in my life.
Even though i have computer's licences, i have been forgotten everything!!!

But now, i am quite brave to use computer.
And i am interested in arranging post something!

I couldn't forget my quizlet's problem. kkkk
Someone deleted my words in quizlet and i couldn't put my words!
It was really stressful and I wanna break all computer!
But few days ago, i got one mail and then i solved it.

Professor, this semester is really fun and a little stressful........a little
Kidding!! I was so closed with friends in this class!
Thank you so much this semester and i wanna meet you next class!

professor, i got one mail from another student 250-1

He used my ID and added his word my.

I don't know why that happened.

So i tried to make words in quizlet and practiced.

self reflection

That time, i was better than before.
But i was so nerveous and stressful.
Because i really wanted to get more better!!
I was quite satisfied with that.
I said what i wanted to but i used 'um' too much.
Actually, interviewer were my freinds. They made me comfortable.
It was important whether i got nerveous or not.
They said i was talking quite fast so i need to talk slow but
they could understand what i said.
I was getting interview for 10 minutes?
It was sooo long and too hard to continue saying.

When i was doing this, i definitely need to practice.
It was greatful activity!!

analysis of interview

It was great experience to practice job interview!!
I have naver taken job interview before.
I was so nerveous to answer some questions.
And i couldn't contact interviewer's eyes.
Nomally, i don't have a problem to see speaker's eyes.
But interviewer's eyes were different!!
They had strange atmosphere so i couldn't!!!!
And i couldn't stay my body.
I twisted my body and bent my head down.
Most biggist problem was that i couldn't speak very well.
I really wanted to speak naturally and fluently.
Actually i was frozen........
2 minutes were so long.
When i left time but i couldn't continue answers, i just smiled.
If it was real situation, i wouldn't get a job.
I feel i need to practice interviews.
Next year i will be graduating university but i hope i get a job this year.
This experience gives me that i am so serious to get jobs.

details of self

This time i want to interview foreigners who live in Korea.
To see foreigner is not difficult in Korea.
I want to know why they come to Korea.
비정상회담 which is famous TV program in Korea.
All guests are foreigner form many countries.
They have special reasons to come to Korea.
They love living in Korea and don't want to go back their countries.
So i wonder who lives in Korea and why Korea.
I think some people don't want to live in Korea anymore.
If someone likes that, I want to know why they are.

And I have to learn how to make vedio using program.
I am so terrible to make vedio....so sadly.

analysis of self

Our group member really tried to use English natually.
Because we had to deceive people who naver notice that we are Korean.
We naver use Korean when we took a rest so we were using English for three hours.
But we repeated same English patterns like asking way to go or about price.
Main problem was that all clerks couldn't spreak English.
Some clerks could understand English but couldn't speak.
So we spent lots of time to explain same saying.
Other clerks even couldn't know English.
We had to find someone who know English so we said "excause me" a lot.

That experience was really fun and valuable.
I felt foreigner got some trouble when they travel Korea.
Many korean didn't try to help them because they think using English is so hard to them.
But it is not difficult to them.
Even though they couldn't speak English very well, we have body language!!!
I hope they don't afraid of foreigners and have courage to help!
I was so enjoyable to get that experience.

IDEA FOR GROUP PROJECT !!

I wanna make a cooking vieo.
Such as two people make a pizza each other .
but they have limited time to cook.
I think 15 minutes is proper.
They cook a pizza which is thier style.
while they are making pizza, they have to expline about thier pizza like special ingredients.
After finishing cook, one person eat that pizza and jude which pizza is better.

It would be great fun and useful because some people who live alone in Busan.
They can learn about cooking easily.
It is quite easy to do.
We don't need to go to place and worry about weather.
Just need someone's house and buy ingerdients for cook.
